World of Warcraft Armor and Armory What is What
Sunday, March 23rd, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedBeing the largest online multi-player, World of Warcraft connects millions of players each and every day. World of Warcraft armor is a class of items that mitigate damage and are equipped in the different armor slots (head, shoulder, back, chest, wrist, hands, waist, legs, feet, and off-hand for shield). This sort of armor contributes to the Armor attribute, a numerical value that translates into physical damage mitigation in combat.
This value from each character (statistics, skills, reputation, talents, arena teams and guild information is collected and saved on World of Warcraft servers and is called the World of Warcraft Armory.
The game is ever-changing, ever-evolving, through both official expansions and through the variety different players bring to the gaming world. The game adapts to anything and everything, but for the average player, such changes can become dizzying. And if a player is not up-to-date on everything in the World of Warcraft universe, he or she will be at a severe disadvantage.
The World of Warcraft Armory was created to provide every player with the means to have an up-to-the-minute recap of everything happening in the World of Warcraft universe. The World of Warcraft Armory is an official database intended to be the most comprehensive, user-friendly, searchable collection of data on all characters, guilds, items, dungeons, raids, bosses, arena teams and faction rewards available anywhere.
Official Amory and Nonofficial Armory What is the difference?
The World of Warcraft Armory is directly connected to the actual game servers, meaning it is aware of any slight change in the World of Warcraft universe. Whenever a character logs out of the game, his or her current statistics are stored in the database, allowing for other players to look him or her up for study. However, there are some drawbacks to this real-time saving of data. The character’s statistics stored in the World of Warcraft Armory are only the current statistics at the time the character logs off the system. In other words, the World of Warcraft Armory only recognizes current weapons, armor, health, magical capabilities, etc. Any other weapons or armor carried in packs, or any temporary inhibitions or bonuses, are not differentiated in the World of Warcraft Armory, meaning the profiles are not necessarily accurate representations of the characters’ capabilities and potential.
There are many unofficial World of Warcraft Armory websites hoping to remedy this problem. While they too serve as direct feeds of system information, they are also edited by webmasters and expert players to present more accurate information. Some of these databases even allow the players themselves to connect and update their own character information.
The non-character data is, for the most part, the same on all of these World of Warcraft Armor sites, but the character information can differ greatly. Because you cant rely on one of these sites and ignoring the other, it is in your best interest to be familiar with all of the sites and there information. It does not matter if the site is official or nonofficial relying on just one can be en disadvantage in playing the game. Remember that only characters of level 10 or greater are displayed in the official Armory.
