A boss is an enemy-based challenge found in console games. A fight with a boss character is referred to as a boss battle. A boss battle is most of the time played at the end of a level, when you defeat the boss you can move on to the next level. The gamer may be required to fight multiple enemies working together as a “boss”, or one that has multiple abilities and forms.
